Qian Zhang is Associate Professor of Geography at the Center for Chinese Agricultral Policy, Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Prior to joining CAS in 2014, she was a postdoctoral associate at Yale University for two years and Ph.D candidate of Geoinformatics at the Royal Institute of Technology-KTH for 3 years. Dr. Zhang’s research is on sustainable rural-urban development and adaptive natural resources (land and water) managment. She is an expert in urbanization dynamics, spatial-explicit simulating rural-urban development, and evaluating resources management policies. She has conducted land cover/use change and urbanization research in China for more than 10 years.
